Stopping Place

The gang has defeated the green dragon. Next step is to talk to Ridoth, who has information about Wave Echo Cave. Hjoldur doesn’t know if he’s free from his curse.

Story Time

In the dark of night, Romaney makes her way back to the Stone Hill Inn with Clargg and the wagon. All her friends are dead.

Stupid Rurik. Stupid, stupid Rurik. Who knocks on a monster’s door? Repeatedly? Stupid!

She gets Clargg settled and enters the inn. It’s nearly empty, save for a couple townspeople she’s seen (maybe they work in the mines?), and two elves she doesn’t recognize, one at the bar, the other at a table. She nods briefly to the dwarf woman behind the bar and slumps down at a table.

And stupid Hjoldur! What was he thinking? Trying to hold a dragon hoard ransom instead of just hitting the stupid thing! She sips the tall mug at the table. She didn’t notice when the mistress brought it.

Stupid Hjoldur! If he had survived, I’d kill him myself for being such an idiot. He’s so—

Suddenly, as thunder roars, the front door swings open revealing a completely nude Hjoldur.

Timeline

Romaney makes it back to the Stone Hill Inn with Clargg, not knowing that anyone else survived. Hjoldur makes it back in his birthday suit, bearing strange markings on his back. Two elves who happen to be at the inn take an interest in the magical inscription and agree to help slay the dragon for fun and profit. Additionally, a half-orc identifies himself as a pupil of Ridoth the Druid and agrees to set up a meeting.

Travel:

• Day 1: Nothing
• Day 2: Hobgoblins (and Jefri misses everything)
• Day 3: Nothing

The new gang meets Ridoth the druid. He thinks Glass Staff might have gone to Cragmaw Castle. He appears to have info on Wave Echo Cave, but will only provide it upon defeat of the dragon. Jefri suggested that he too might be a slave of the dragon, and he found that offensive for some reason.

The gang draws the dragon out of his layer. Ogg grapples the dragon, and Romaney provides the buffs needed for Jefri to connect a witch bolt. The rogue climbs on the dragon’s back like a horse. Meanwhile, Hjoldur finds himself unable to damage the dragon directly due to his enchantment, but can support his friends.

The dragon gets defeated and collects the loot, most of which goes into the community chest. Hjoldur doesn’t know if his enchantment has been broken.
